Define academic integrity in your own words

Instructions attached
Write an essay that responds to the questions in the guidelines. This is an exercise in which you are prompted to reflect on your Academic Integrity violation and accurately and truthfully describe what happened and how you felt during the entire process. The essay must be your own work, developed and written without assistance from anyone else. The goal is to reflect on your own experiences. Be sure to include complete citation information when you reference others’ ideas or writing.
Be sure to proofread your essay after you finish writing it.
GUIDELINES:
The purpose of this assignment is to produce a well-organized essay that demonstrates an understanding of your academic integrity violation and SU’s Academic Integrity Policy, describes how you think this incident affects your current and future educational and professional experiences, and suggests your intent to resolve this issue and follow the Academic Integrity Policy in the future.
Your essay should be in essay form, so DO NOT answer with a bulleted list. There is no page requirement, however, students generally find they need 2-3 single-spaced pages to write a quality paper that responds to all of the questions.
The attached rubric outlines how your essay will be graded.
When writing your essay, you should respond to the following questions:

What is academic integrity?
Define academic integrity in your own words:
Academic integrity is a set of values and behaviors that are expected of students, faculty, and staff in academic settings. It involves being honest and trustworthy in all aspects of academic work, including research, writing, and testing.

At its core, academic integrity involves being responsible for one’s own work and acknowledging the contributions of others. This means that students should always complete their own work and should never engage in plagiarism, which is the act of copying or using someone else’s work without proper attribution. In addition, students should never engage in cheating on tests or exams, or in any other form of academic dishonesty.

Faculty and staff also have a responsibility to uphold academic integrity by ensuring that their own work meets high standards of honesty and accuracy, and by setting clear expectations for academic conduct in their courses and research projects.
What is your violation?
Do you agree with how your violation was categorized? Why or why not?
In your description of each event, recount what happened specifically AND what you were thinking and feeling at the time. Be sure to discuss what you were thinking and feeling when you:
Took the actions that were found to violate the policy;
Learned that you were being accused of the violation;
Had discussions with your instructor, adviser, or others about the violation
Participated in steps in the academic integrity case process, including an academic integrity hearing if one occurred in your case;
Waited to learn the outcome of your case; and
Now, as you complete this academic integrity seminar.
What are possible consequences of your violation:
What do your violation and the resulting consequences mean to you?
Will this experience change your approach to your course work? If so, how?
Describe anything else this violation will change for you;
What will happen if you violate the policy again in the future?
What will you do to avoid academic integrity violations and other ethical violations in the workplace or other environments in the future?
