Revenue Management Assessment Individual Project Importance & Compliance Individual/Group Individual Length 2,500 words (± 10%) Learning Outcomes This assessment addresses the following subject learning outcomes: a) Analyse and apply revenue management as a process. b) Appraise the operational requirements and effectiveness of the various components of revenue management. c) Review critically areas of hospitality operations where revenue management should be applied. Total Marks 100 marks Context: The Individual Project this term will be a Case Study, including a short Literature Review. Using secondary research only, you will show how RM can be applied in a hotel, looking at several revenue centres. You will demonstrate strong research skills, as well as critical thinking and analysis. This assessment will help you to understand what RM is, what its main functions are and how these are used in hotels today. With this knowledge in hand, you will become more versed in this interdepartmental topic and be able to see its application in any hotel department. Instructions: In this assessment, you will prepare a Case Study as if you were a Revenue Intern for a 5* hotel in Sydney. You are asked to present a report to your Revenue Manager in order to finally be promoted to Revenue Analyst. This report will show your understanding of Revenue Management and should answer the following question. Identify areas of operations in the hotel of your choice where Revenue Management can be applied. Please provide justifications. Determine and elaborate what requirements are needed for RM to be implemented in different hotels’ departments; ? All referencing must be in accordance with APA 6th Edition Students must refer, in text, to a minimum of 12 academic references, plus others as required, in order to show competency in the assessment.
